Welcome to Metamorphosis

At Metamorphosis, we provide an interface between the entrepreneurs who wish to invest in private arts related businesses and those arts ventures which require funding.

We also provide an interface for private arts businesses looking for sponsors for exhibitions or events.

METAMORPHOSIS is serious about the business and commercial opportunities that exist within the private commercial art sector in the UK, and we are committed to increasing the level of business angel investment into this diverse and interesting sector. In 2009, private investment in culture stood at £654.9 million.

A 2010 DCMS Report states that, during 2007, the creative industries accounted for £59.9 billion of UK Gross Value Added.  They grew by an average of 5% per annum between 1997 and 2007.  However, the creative industries are missing out on substantial further income every year due to a major shortage of business skills and a shortage of finance.

The founders of METAMORPHOSIS have worked and operated within the UK commercial arts sector and the high net worth investment community for many years. As a consequence, they have an extensive network of contacts within the sector, and amongst the relevant investment community. As a result of this network, they frequently found themselves in a natural deal interface position. The founding of METAMORPHOSIS was the formalisation of this unique interface which can be used to help raise funds for businesses and projects in the commercial arts.

What is the Commercial Arts Sector?

METAMORPHOSIS is an independent network connecting the commercial arts sector. The commercial visual arts sector includes: galleries (dealing in primary and/or secondary works), dealers, artists, curators, artists' agents, art fair providers, pop up art show/exhibition providers, auction houses, online auction businesses, design manufacturing businesses, design retail businesses, arts publications, antiques businesses and much more.

Why might businesses in the Commercial Arts Sector require funding?

By way of example, funding might be required:

  • for the purchase of gallery/dealership stock,
  • for the production costs for a newly conceived art work,
  • for a working capital injection,
  • to fund expansion plans,
  • to fund a particular project.

Please do not hesitate to contact us for further information on investing in commercial arts projects, or raising private finance for your project/business.

Please note that we do not consider investment applications for film, television, theatre or music. For funding in these sectors, please refer to CAIN at http://www.cainuk.com/.
